ask the shop owner where they’re made. that’s the reason why they stop putting the Made in England stamp on the sole.

Thanks for the write-up Ms. Saab. I’ve been wanting a pair of DMs lately, and wanting ‘em really bad… quite disapointed when I realized that all their shops were already closed. Stumbling on your blog, my girl and I immediately headed to the fort. Found the shop, but their selections were already depleted (went there last Sunday). Oh well, just my luck. We ended up dining at the nearby rodeo steakhouse, and munched away our frustrations…hehe..

I bought a pair in HK and sobrang labo kasi I was asking the merchant for 16 hole boots tapos she was arguing with me, saying there’s no such thing. Also, love the dress! I saw this in Topshop, kaso they don’t have it in my size :( Wish I was a US 2 like you!

^ Eric Generic is correct about where DM’s are manufactured. They are now mostly manufactured either in China, Thailand, and England. If you are a purist and wants to get the made in England ones (that mr.shoe snob points out *looking at Eric*), you may get lucky in Cartimar or you can ask your friends from the store about the “vintage collection” which are the made in England ones (more expensive though).
If you are wondering if it matters if where your DM’s are made, I’ve found a good link (not mine) comparing how the shoes wear depending on where they were manufactured:
